The Chicago Bulls will bring back their black pinstripe uniforms next year, designating the throwback look as the franchise’s new Statement Edition kit for the 2025-26 NBA season.
The team unveiled the return of the fan-favorite jersey on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. It marks the first time the Bulls will suit up in the pinstripes since the 2012-13 campaign.
Links to the Championship Era
Chicago originally introduced the black pinstripes during the height of its 1990s dynasty. The jerseys debuted in the 1995-96 season, when the Bulls won a then-record 72 regular-season games on the way to their fourth NBA title, and remained in the rotation through the 1996-97 championship run.
Subtle Design Updates
While the overall look mirrors the classic version, several tweaks differentiate the new edition:
- Stars from the Chicago city flag now appear on the waistband of the shorts.
- The red-and-white trim along the neckline and armholes has been revised to red-and-black.
Dennis Rodman Front and Center
Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman partnered with the Bulls for the rollout. “I used to wear the jersey all the time, only the jersey,” Rodman said in a release. “These jerseys right here are legendary. My style came from Chicago.”
Availability and Key Dates
The new uniforms will be displayed during Bulls Fest later this month at the United Center. The Statement Edition retail collection goes on sale October 15, ahead of the NBA’s opening night on October 21.
Chicago has not advanced past the first round of the playoffs since the 2014-15 season, but the organization hopes the return of a beloved design will energize fans as the next campaign approaches.
