Free-agent guard Alondes Williams has reached an agreement on a training-camp deal with the Washington Wizards, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes.
The Wizards already have 15 players on guaranteed contracts, so Williams’ agreement is expected to be of the Exhibit 10 variety. Washington’s offseason roster now stands at 19, two below the league’s 21-player limit for the preseason.
Williams, 25, has appeared in nine NBA games. He made his debut with the Brooklyn Nets during the 2022-23 season, logged seven games for the Miami Heat in 2023-24, and saw the floor once for the Detroit Pistons last year.
Detroit originally signed Williams to a two-way pact in October before waiving him in early January. The 6-foot-5 guard later joined the Orlando Magic’s Summer League squad in July.
Most of his playing time last season came in the NBA G League, where he split 45 games between the Sioux Falls Skyforce and the Motor City Cruise. He averaged 18.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists while logging 32.9 minutes per game.
If Williams signs an Exhibit 10 contract and is waived before the regular season, he could land with Washington’s G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go, and be eligible for a bonus of up to $85,300.
