WASHINGTON, D.C., Oct. 6, 2025 — The Washington Wizards have signed center/forward Skal Labissiere to an Exhibit 10 contract and waived forward Akoldah Gak to clear a spot on the training-camp roster, the team announced via X (formerly Twitter).

Labissiere’s impending arrival was first reported in August, the same month the Wizards’ G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go, obtained his returning-player rights in a four-team trade. At 29, the 6-foot-10 big man is attempting to reestablish himself in the NBA after spending most of the past four seasons in the G League.

He briefly returned to the league last March on a 10-day contract with the Sacramento Kings, appearing in four games while the club dealt with frontcourt injuries. Before that call-up, he spent two years with the Stockton Kings, averaging 16.1 points and 7.9 rebounds across 28 games last season.

Labissiere also suited up for the Orlando Magic at July’s Las Vegas Summer League, hoping to secure another NBA look. Because he owns more than four years of NBA service, he is ineligible for a two-way contract. With Washington already carrying 16 standard deals, he is expected to open the season with Capital City, where the Exhibit 10 pact could earn him a bonus of up to $85,300 if he remains at least 60 days.

Gak, a 6-foot-11 Australian forward, had signed his own Exhibit 10 agreement with Washington last week. He is likewise projected to play for the Go-Go after clearing waivers.
