Wizards Bring In Skal Labissiere On Training Camp Deal

The Washington Wizards have reached an agreement with free-agent center Skal Labissiere, according to a report from league insider Chris Haynes on X. Because Washington already has 15 players on guaranteed contracts, Labissiere is expected to join the club on a non-guaranteed training-camp deal.
Haynes also reported earlier Tuesday that the Wizards are adding guard Alondes Williams. With both signings, Washington’s offseason roster would climb to 20 players, one below the NBA’s preseason limit.
Labissiere, 29, has appeared in 152 NBA games since being selected late in the first round of the 2016 draft. After spending four seasons out of the league, he returned for four contests with the Sacramento Kings last season, joining the team on a 10-day contract in early March when injuries depleted the Kings’ frontcourt depth.
The 6-foot-10 big man had earlier stints with both Sacramento and Portland from 2016–20, totaling 148 games during that span. Over the past several years he has played primarily in the G League, suiting up for the Stockton Kings in each of the last two seasons. In 44 games with Stockton in 2023-24, he averaged 14.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks across 26.8 minutes per contest.
Both Labissiere and Williams spent July with Orlando’s Summer League squad. Labissiere will now look to parlay a strong training camp into a regular-season roster spot in Washington.
