The Washington Wizards have expanded their preseason roster, signing guard Sharife Cooper to a two-way contract and inking Keshon Gilbert and Jonathan Pierre to Exhibit 10 agreements, the club announced on September 19.

Cooper, 24, was the No. 48 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft by Atlanta. Current Wizards senior vice president of player personnel Travis Schlenk held the Hawks’ presidency when that selection was made. The 6-foot-1 guard logged 13 appearances as a rookie, averaging three minutes per game, before spending three seasons in the G League, where he posted 19.3 points and 7.0 assists per contest. Last year he split time in Greece, France and Turkey, recording 14.7 points and 3.8 assists per outing during EuroCup action.

With Cooper on board, Washington’s three two-way slots are filled by Cooper, Tristan Vukcevic and Jamir Watkins.

The organization also made official the previously reported signing of Gilbert. Pierre, a 6-foot-9 forward who averaged 7.7 points in 22.2 minutes for the Wizards’ Summer League squad, joins him on an Exhibit 10 deal. Both players can earn a bonus if they are waived and then spend at least 60 days with the club’s G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go.
