ESPN Restores Traditional NBA Box Score After Tim Legler Raises Fan Complaints

ESPN has reinstated its long-time NBA box-score format on both its app and website, one day after network analyst Tim Legler told listeners of his “All NBA” podcast that he would pass widespread user objections to company executives.
For several weeks, fans had criticized a redesign that separated offensive and defensive rebounds, split two-point and three-point shooting, and pushed core statistics such as field-goal percentage to less prominent positions. The changes were considered confusing and counterintuitive by many users.
Legler addressed the complaints on his podcast and said he would “take the feedback upstairs.” On November 13, 2025, the All NBA Podcast account (@ALLCITY_NBA) posted screenshots of the reverted box score, calling the adjustment a win for viewers.
The restored layout again lists points first, followed by field-goal shooting. Rebounds, assists, steals, blocks and turnovers now share the same line, mirroring the format fans had used for years. Users who want detailed splits or free-throw numbers can still swipe to the “All Stats” view.
The rollback was not entirely seamless. At publication time, some desktop versions displayed points, offensive rebounds and personal fouls in an unusual sequence, indicating minor glitches remained.
