USA Basketball on Tuesday released its 12-player squad for the next FIBA World Cup qualifying window, set for later this month in Oceanside, California.

The United States will face the Dominican Republic on February 26 and Mexico on March 1 at Frontwave Arena. Former Houston Rockets head coach Stephen Silas will direct a group that opens the window with a 2-0 record after defeating Nicaragua twice in November.

Full roster

Guards: Tevian Jones, Taevion Kinsey, Brandon Knight, Dakota Mathias, Elfrid Payton, Jaden Shackelford
Forwards: Malcolm Hill, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, David Roddy, Terry Taylor
Centers: Jeremiah Tilmon, James Wiseman

Knight, Shackelford and Tilmon are returnees from the November window. The most prominent newcomer is James Wiseman, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Wiseman has logged 152 NBA regular-season games across six seasons and most recently appeared for the Indiana Pacers earlier in the 2025-26 campaign before being waived on December 26.

Other recent NBA contributors include Payton, Robinson-Earl, Roddy and Taylor. Payton split last season between New Orleans and Charlotte, Roddy played for three different clubs, and Taylor had a short stint with Sacramento. Robinson-Earl suited up for Indiana this season and signed a 10-day deal with Dallas last month, appearing in five games.

This is the second of six qualifying windows for the 2027 FIBA World Cup, which starts on August 27, 2027. Additional qualifiers are scheduled for July, August/September and November/December 2026, with the final window in February 2027.

The players announced Tuesday are unlikely to appear on the final World Cup roster; USA Basketball traditionally assembles a higher-profile lineup once the NBA season concludes. The qualifying process, however, offers opportunities for veterans and G League standouts to secure the nation’s place in the tournament.
