November 5, 2025 — Several Western Conference teams are bracing for lineup changes as injuries and illnesses continue to shape early-season rosters.

Warriors weigh status of Butler, Curry and Green

The Golden State Warriors could be without three starters when they finish a back-to-back set tonight in Sacramento. Forward Jimmy Butler left Tuesday’s victory over Phoenix in the second quarter with lower-back soreness and is listed as questionable. Head coach Steve Kerr told reporters the veteran “ran into a bit of a wall” on the recent road trip.

Stephen Curry has already been ruled out because of an illness that sidelined him Tuesday, and Draymond Green is questionable with a right rib contusion. All three players had appeared in the Warriors’ first eight games.

Mavericks keep Davis, Lively on shelf

Dallas will miss center Anthony Davis for a third straight game as he continues to recover from a left calf strain. Rookie big man Dereck Lively II (right knee sprain) will also remain out for Wednesday’s meeting with New Orleans, the team announced.

Achiuwa signs with Kings

Precious Achiuwa finalized a deal with Sacramento on Tuesday, giving the frontcourt a boost in size and physicality. The former Knick and Heat forward said he plans to contribute “size, defense, rebounding and toughness” after staying in shape following his late-October release by Miami.

Spotlight on Pelicans’ offseason moves

The Pelicans’ 1–6 start is drawing scrutiny from league observers. A Substack post by Yossi Gozlan highlighted three summer trades — including a draft-night move for Derik Queen, the acquisition of Jordan Poole from Washington and the decision to return a 2026 first-rounder to Indiana — as factors limiting the team’s flexibility. Keith Smith of Spotrac wrote separately that New Orleans may need to consider parting ways with former No. 1 pick Zion Williamson.

Reaves sidelined again for Lakers

Lakers guard Austin Reaves will miss a second consecutive contest Wednesday in San Antonio because of right groin soreness, the club confirmed.
