Warriors
Golden State has landed veteran center Al Horford on a two-year contract for the full taxpayer mid-level exception. The 39-year-old told The Athletic he left Boston because the Celtics could no longer meet his competitive and financial expectations after injuries and salary-shedding moves involving Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porziņģis and Jrue Holiday. Stephen Curry and Draymond Green personally recruited Horford, and their outreach convinced him to relocate to the Bay Area. Horford said it “just felt right” and added that he hopes to finish his career with the Warriors.
Jazz
Utah is bringing back forward Pedro Bradshaw on an Exhibit 10 agreement, according to TNT’s Chris Haynes. Bradshaw, who began his pro career with the G League’s Salt Lake City Stars, has also played in Australia and Germany. Two seasons ago he averaged 8.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and hit 40% from three for the Stars. If he stays with the Stars for at least 60 days, he will receive an $85,300 bonus. Utah’s roster is already at the 21-player offseason limit, so a corresponding move will be required.
Suns
Off the court, Phoenix owner Mat Ishbia has countersued minority investors Andy Kohlberg and Scott Seldin. The pair previously alleged that Ishbia denied them access to financial documents. Ishbia’s filing says the investors opted out of a recent capital call that covered payroll and luxury-tax obligations, then demanded an $825 million buyout while starting what he calls a negative public-relations campaign. “We don’t settle,” Ishbia told reporters. “If we didn’t do anything wrong, I’m not paying someone.”
