The Dallas Mavericks have reached a multi-year contract extension with head coach Jason Kidd, the club announced after ESPN’s Marc Stein first reported the agreement.

“I’m grateful for the belief that Patrick Dumont and Nico Harrison have in me, and the trust we’ve built while working together to construct a team that Dallas can be proud of,” Kidd said in a statement released through The Dallas Morning News. The 52-year-old has guided Dallas since 2021, steering the franchise to the 2024 NBA Finals and now overseeing the development of No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg.

Kings Exercise Option on Devin Carter

The Sacramento Kings have picked up the third-year option on guard Devin Carter, ensuring the 13th overall pick in the 2024 draft will earn $5.16 million in the 2026-27 season. The team faced a month-end deadline to finalize the move.

Carter averaged 3.8 points and 2.1 rebounds in limited minutes as a rookie after missing time following shoulder surgery. The Providence product was also mentioned in summer trade discussions with the Golden State Warriors that ultimately stalled.

Jazz Add Bradshaw, East II; Waive Two

The Utah Jazz have signed forward Pedro Bradshaw and guard Sean East II to training-camp deals while waiving Max Abmas and Cameron McGriff, the team announced.

Bradshaw, a 6-foot-7 forward, played overseas last year after averaging 10.7 points and 5.7 rebounds in Australia. East was a leading scorer in the Canadian Elite Basketball League, posting 23.3 points per game.

Both newcomers are expected to land with the Salt Lake City Stars of the NBA G League. If they remain with the Stars for at least 60 days, they can each earn Exhibit 10 bonuses of up to $85,300.
