The Golden State Warriors will remain without Stephen Curry for a minimum of 10 additional days as the two-time MVP continues to rehabilitate a knee injury that has kept him out of the lineup since Jan. 30.

Curry’s prolonged absence, combined with Jimmy Butler also being sidelined, has slowed the Warriors’ momentum in the Western Conference. Golden State dropped consecutive games to the Utah Jazz and Chicago Bulls this week, further tightening the race for play-in positioning.

Reporter Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area noted that locking down the No. 8 seed now appears to be the club’s most attainable objective, a spot that would give Golden State a more favorable route through the play-in tournament.

The team also hopes to accelerate Curry’s return so newly acquired Kristaps Porziņģis can finally share the court with him. “I want to play with Steph,” Porziņģis said earlier in the week, a sentiment echoed throughout the Warriors’ locker room.

Golden State’s next update on Curry’s status is expected after the 10-day window concludes.
