The Golden State Warriors are set to bring in free agent center Omer Yurtseven on a 10-day deal, according to Marc Stein. Agents Keith Glass and Luke Glass confirmed the agreement to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Yurtseven, 27, played 113 regular-season games for the Heat and Jazz between 2021 and 2024, averaging 5.0 points and 4.6 rebounds in 11.8 minutes. Ten days ago he joined the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G League, where he posted 23.0 points, 13.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per contest while shooting 56.9% from the field and 87.5% at the line.

The Turkish big man spent most of the past two seasons with Panathinaikos before parting ways with the Greek club earlier this year. His rebounding is expected to help a Golden State roster dealing with a wave of injuries.

Injury-Hit Frontcourt

Veteran forward Al Horford (right soleus strain) is slated to miss multiple games, while Draymond Green, Seth Curry (left adductor strain) and Quinten Post were all hurt before or during Friday’s loss to Minnesota. Guard Moses Moody has sat out the last six contests with a right wrist sprain.

Golden State is already without Jimmy Butler (torn right ACL) and Stephen Curry (runner’s knee), sidelined since January. For Sunday’s game in New York, the Warriors also ruled out DeAnthony Melton (left knee injury management) and Kristaps Porzingis (illness management). Post is listed as questionable.

Contract Details

As a third-year player, Yurtseven will earn $136,717 during the 10-day stint, while the Warriors incur a $131,970 cap charge. Golden State had one open roster spot, so no corresponding move is required.
