The Golden State Warriors are growing confident that Stephen Curry could be back on the court before March concludes, ESPN’s Shams Charania said Tuesday on NBA Today.
Curry, sidelined since January 30 with patellar tendinitis—often called “runner’s knee”—has missed 18 games. On Tuesday afternoon in Boston, the two-time MVP completed an intensive on-court workout that featured running, cutting, and other full-speed movements. Charania reported that the session ended without swelling, a key benchmark in the recovery process.
Curry recently received a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection, which the team believes has accelerated healing. While he remains limited to individual drills and has not yet rejoined full team activities, the Warriors have begun ramping up his conditioning in anticipation of clearance.
Before the injury, Curry was averaging 27.2 points and earned another All-Star appearance. Golden State has posted a 23-16 record with him and 10-19 without him, underscoring his impact on the lineup.
The Warriors currently sit in the Western Conference play-in zone, though the margin separating them from the pack has narrowed during his absence. A late-March return would give head coach Steve Kerr additional time to reintegrate his star guard ahead of a potential postseason run.
