Milwaukee, WI — Former All-Star guard Victor Oladipo has been assigned to the Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, the team announced.
The move follows Oladipo’s entrance into the G League’s available player pool earlier this week. According to Yahoo Sports, the Santa Cruz Warriors initially claimed his rights before trading them to the Herd.
Oladipo, 33, spent the preseason with Guangzhou of the Chinese Basketball Association, where he averaged 19.3 points, 3.0 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 2.7 steals in 27.9 minutes over three games while shooting 46.7 percent from the field.
During the summer, the two-time All-Star held workouts for NBA clubs in Las Vegas and indicated he was open to playing overseas but still prioritized an NBA return. “That’s where I belong, the three letters: N-B-A,” he told HoopsHype in July.
The veteran guard earned All-NBA Third Team and All-Defensive First Team honors with the Indiana Pacers in 2017-18, when he averaged 23.1 points and received votes for both MVP and Defensive Player of the Year. A ruptured quad tendon in 2019 and subsequent surgeries in 2021 and April 2023 (torn patellar tendon with Miami) have limited his appearances in recent seasons.
Oladipo will attempt to revive his NBA career with the Herd as the G League season approaches.
