Tyler Herro Cleared to Return Tuesday Against Timberwolves

Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro has been upgraded to “available” and is expected to play Tuesday, Jan. 6, against the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to the team’s latest injury report.

The appearance would be Herro’s first since Dec. 9. The 25-year-old missed 11 consecutive games—and 13 of the last 14—because of a right big-toe contusion. Earlier in the season, he sat out the first 17 contests while recovering from left ankle surgery, limiting him to just six games so far in 2025-26.

When healthy, Herro has produced at his usual clip. Across those six outings, he averaged 23.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 31.8 minutes, shooting 50.5% from the field, 40.5% from three-point range and 92.3% at the foul line.

Herro was returned to the starting lineup immediately after his previous layoff and is expected to reclaim that role again. Miami, however, has found recent success with a group featuring Bam Adebayo, Kelel Ware, Norman Powell, Davion Mitchell and Andrew Wiggins. That five has opened the last four games—winning three—and owns a +18.0 net rating in that span.

While the Heat anticipate the return of one of their top scorers, Minnesota could be without its leading option. The Timberwolves listed Anthony Edwards as questionable due to right foot injury maintenance.
