Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro is on track to make his first appearance of the season Monday night when the team hosts the Dallas Mavericks, barring any last-minute setback, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The 25-year-old has been out since September after undergoing surgery to relieve posterior impingement syndrome in his left ankle. Herro rejoined full practices recently, and Monday’s matchup had been circled internally as the target date for his return.
Herro enters the season following the first All-Star selection of his career and is expected to regain a leading role in Miami’s offense, which has undergone significant changes since last year.
The Heat improved to 11-6 after defeating the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, their ninth win in the past 11 games.
