Ty Jerome Expected to Miss Another 6–9 Weeks With Calf Injury

The Memphis Grizzlies announced on Saturday that guard Ty Jerome remains roughly six to nine weeks away from playing as he continues to recover from a high-grade right calf strain suffered during the preseason.

The 28-year-old has yet to appear in a regular-season game for Memphis. The team said in a statement that Jerome is “making good progress” in his rehabilitation and that additional updates will be provided when appropriate.

Jerome signed a three-year, $27.7 million contract with the Grizzlies after finishing last season as a Sixth Man of the Year finalist for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He averaged 12.5 points, 3.4 assists and 2.5 rebounds while shooting 51.6 percent from the field, 43.9 percent from three-point range and 87.2 percent at the free-throw line.

Memphis envisioned the former University of Virginia standout as a key reserve behind star point guard Ja Morant. With Jerome’s timetable pushing his debut into early 2026, the Grizzlies’ already thin backcourt remains under strain. Morant is sidelined by his own right calf strain, backup guard Scotty Pippen Jr. has not played this season after October toe surgery, and two-way guard Javon Small is expected to be out until at least December because of a toe injury.
