Adelaide, Australia — November 14, 2025: Veteran swingman Troy Brown Jr. has agreed to a rest-of-season deal with the National Basketball League’s Adelaide 36ers, the club announced. The 26-year-old, selected 15th overall in the 2018 NBA Draft, appeared for the Wizards, Bulls, Lakers, Timberwolves, and Pistons over six NBA seasons, last suiting up in 2023-24. Brown split last year between Turkey and Puerto Rico before heading to Australia. General manager Matt Weston called him “a legitimate shooter” with defensive versatility.
In a separate NBL move, the Brisbane Bullets have released former NBA guard Jaylen Adams. According to team sources, behavioral and cultural concerns prompted the decision. The 29-year-old, undrafted out of St. Bonaventure in 2018, logged 41 NBA games through 2020-21 and captured the NBL MVP award while leading the Sydney Kings to the 2021-22 title. Recent performances were reportedly well below his previous standards.
Stateside, Eric Pincus of SportsBusinessClassroom.com updated the 2025-26 NBA luxury-tax tracker: 16 teams currently sit below the tax threshold, while 14 face tax payments. The Nets and Jazz hold the widest cushions under the line; the Cavaliers own the league’s priciest roster with a projected tax bill approaching $164 million.
ESPN’s Zach Kram released an early-season ranking of the league’s top 10 rookies based solely on the first three weeks of play. Grizzlies wing Cedric Coward tops the list, followed by 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe. Charlotte places three first-year players in the top eight—Kon Knueppel (No. 3), Ryan Kalkbrenner (No. 5), and Sion James (No. 8).
