The Portland Trail Blazers have reached agreements with forwards Alex Reese and Blake Hinson on Exhibit 10 contracts and intend to waive both players after they sign, multiple outlets reported on September 25, 2025.
According to Sean Highkin of Rose Garden Report, the maneuver is designed to secure the 24-year-olds for the Blazers’ G League affiliate, the Rip City Remix, for the 2025-26 campaign. An Exhibit 10 deal allows Portland to convert either player to a two-way contract, though the club already carries 15 fully guaranteed standard deals and two of its three possible two-way spots.
Reese’s comeback path
Reese, a 6-foot-9 stretch forward who played at Alabama from 2017-21, went undrafted and briefly stepped away from basketball to work as a bartender. He resurfaced by signing an Exhibit 10 agreement with Oklahoma City in 2023, earning a place on the Thunder’s opening-night roster. After being waived in late October, he landed a two-year, two-way deal with Philadelphia.
The Pelham, Alabama, native appeared in 15 NBA regular-season games last season—14 with the 76ers—averaging 5.1 points and 3.1 rebounds. Philadelphia released him this summer while clearing a two-way slot for Dom Barlow.
Hinson’s scoring résumé
Hinson, undrafted out of Pittsburgh in 2024 after averaging 18.5 points as a senior, initially agreed to a two-way pact with the Lakers but was waived before training camp. The 6-foot-7 wing then joined Golden State on an Exhibit 10 contract and spent the season with the Warriors’ G League affiliate, where he posted 17.7 points per game on 44.5% shooting overall and 36.6% from three in 50 contests.
Portland also has reported Exhibit 10 deals awaiting completion with guard Sean Pedulla and forward Andrew Carr.
