Sixteen-year-old wing Babatunde Oladotun will graduate from Blake High School in Maryland next spring, reclassifying from the 2027 to the 2026 high school class and becoming NBA draft-eligible in 2027, ESPN’s Paul Biancardi reported on Thursday.

Oladotun had occupied the No. 1 spot in ESPN’s 2027 rankings and was No. 6 on Rivals, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. The 6’9″ scorer, who owns a 6’11” wingspan, told ESPN that he is “ahead of schedule academically” and feels comfortable competing against older players after spending the summer in the 17U division with Team Durant.

“I have gained 20 pounds over the last year, and it never felt like I was playing up,” he said, adding that Blake High School’s environment and support system influenced his decision to stay and graduate early.

Draft analysts consider the 2027 class thin on elite talent; Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68 noted that Oladotun could alter that perception. Biancardi describes the teenager as a true three-level scorer, and virtually every top college program is pursuing his commitment. He is widely viewed as a potential top-10 pick in 2027.

Oladotun’s father, Ibrahim Oladotun, told ESPN the family is searching for a college coach “with a long history of teaching and winning” who can maximize a big guard in an NBA-style offense featuring quick actions.
