The Minnesota Timberwolves listed Anthony Edwards as questionable for Wednesday night’s game against the New York Knicks after the guard was cleared for contact work earlier in the week.
Edwards, who has sat out the last four contests with a right hamstring strain, underwent an MRI on Oct. 28. At that time the club said he would be re-evaluated in one week, leading to speculation that the three-time All-Star could miss at least two weeks.
On Monday, the team announced that the 24-year-old had resumed contact basketball activities, opening the door for a possible return at Madison Square Garden. Minnesota has gone 2-2 during his absence, registering road victories in Charlotte and Brooklyn.
Before the injury, Edwards erupted for 41 points against Portland and added 31 versus the Lakers. He exited after three minutes of an Oct. 26 meeting with Indiana, the game in which the hamstring issue occurred.
Last season, the former No. 1 overall pick produced a career-high 27.6 points and 4.5 assists per game while appearing in 79 regular-season outings.
