The Minnesota Timberwolves have added guard Nojel Eastern on a free-agent deal, the club confirmed Monday through a press release.
Contract terms were not disclosed, but the agreement is expected to be a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 pact. Such a deal would allow Eastern to earn a bonus of up to $85,300 if he is waived by Minnesota and then spends at least 60 days with the organization’s G League affiliate, the Iowa Wolves, this season.
Eastern, 26, has spent the past two years with Iowa. During the 2024-25 G League campaign, the former Purdue standout appeared in 29 games and averaged 12.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.4 steals across 30.0 minutes, while shooting 51.4 percent from the field, 41.9 percent from three-point range and 74.4 percent at the foul line.
The 6-foot-7 guard earned Big Ten All-Defensive Team honors in 2019 and 2020 and suited up for Minnesota’s squad at the Las Vegas Summer League in July.
Eastern’s signing brings the Timberwolves’ offseason roster to 19 players: 13 on fully guaranteed contracts, Bones Hyland on a partial guarantee, three on two-way deals, and both Johnny Juzang and Eastern on non-guaranteed agreements.
