The Oklahoma City Thunder have released shooting guard Chris Youngblood and signed swingman Buddy Boeheim to a two-way contract, the club confirmed Friday.

Youngblood, who turns 24 on Monday, joined Oklahoma City last summer as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama. He appeared in 50 games for the Thunder—reaching the maximum allowed for a two-way player—after signing his deal. Continuing to use him would have required converting his agreement to a standard NBA contract, but the Thunder did not have an available spot on their 15-man roster following Thursday’s deadline, which sent out Ousmane Dieng and brought in Jared McCain.

Rather than keep Youngblood in the G League for the remainder of the season, the team chose to waive him, allowing the guard to pursue opportunities elsewhere.

Boeheim earns the open two-way slot after spending recent seasons with the organization’s G League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue. In nine games this year, the former Syracuse sharpshooter has averaged 15.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 30.4 minutes, shooting .375 from the field, .351 from three-point range and a perfect 1.000 at the free-throw line.

The 26-year-old previously appeared in 20 regular-season games for the Detroit Pistons between 2022 and 2024. Under two-way rules, he may be active for up to 19 NBA games with the Thunder for the balance of the 2025-26 campaign.
