The Oklahoma City Thunder shuffled their coaching ranks on August 28, naming assistant coach Daniel Dixon as head coach of their G League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue.

Dixon, who entered the organization three years ago after a stint as a video coordinator in Charlotte, began his Thunder tenure as a Blue assistant. He moved to the NBA bench for the 2024/25 season and has twice directed Oklahoma City’s Summer League teams in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas.

With Dixon moving back to the G League, the Thunder promoted Kameron Woods—the Blue’s head coach for the past three seasons—to join head coach Mark Daigneault’s NBA staff. Woods guided the Blue to an NBGL championship in 2024 and has spent seven years in the organization, including several assignments leading Summer League squads.
