Veteran center Thomas Bryant has agreed to a non-guaranteed deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to sources cited by Hoops Wire.
The agreement brings Cleveland’s roster to 14 standard contracts as training camp begins Tuesday in Florida. Because the contract is non-guaranteed, Bryant will have to secure a roster spot during camp, but the 6-foot-10 big man is expected to supply additional depth and toughness behind starters Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley.
Bryant, entering his ninth NBA season, reportedly delivered a strong workout for the New York Knicks earlier this offseason before the club opted to bolster its backcourt instead. He then reached terms with the Cavaliers.
Last season, the former Indiana Hoosier appeared in 66 games with the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers, averaging 6.5 points and 3.8 rebounds while shooting 50.8 percent from the field. He also contributed off the bench during Indiana’s second-half surge to the Finals.
Over his career, Bryant has played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, Denver Nuggets, Heat and Pacers, earning an NBA championship ring with Denver in 2023.
