The Minnesota Timberwolves said Saturday that guard Terrence Shannon Jr. will be re-evaluated in two weeks after an MRI showed an abductor hallucis strain in his left foot.

Shannon exited Thursday’s game with soreness in the same foot. Through 22 appearances this season, the 2024 first-round pick is averaging 4.5 points and 1.3 rebounds in 12.8 minutes, shooting 39.5% from the field and 40.5% from three-point range.

This is the second left-foot setback for the 22-year-old this year. He missed nine games in November with a bruised fifth metatarsal, and the team did not indicate whether the injuries are connected.

With Shannon sidelined, coach Chris Finch could turn to fellow rookie Rob Dillingham or second-year guard Jaylen Clark for additional backcourt minutes, especially as 38-year-old veteran Mike Conley takes on a reduced role.
