The Phoenix Suns have signed free-agent guard Jaden Shackelford and immediately placed him on waivers, according to a transaction log cited by Hoops Rumors.
Details of the contract were not disclosed. Moves like this are commonly used to secure a player’s G League rights while keeping the NBA roster spot open.
Shackelford, 23, went undrafted out of Alabama in 2022 and has spent the past two seasons in the G League. He averaged 14.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists last year with the Oklahoma City Blue.
The waiver process lasts 48 hours. If Shackelford clears, he can join the Suns’ G League affiliate under an Exhibit 10 bonus arrangement.
