Guard Devin Booker said he is unconcerned about the NBA’s 65-game eligibility requirement for major postseason awards, noting that his focus remains on winning an NBA championship. The four-time All-Star, who can miss only one more contest and still qualify for honors such as All-NBA, addressed reporters Tuesday.

“The postseason award I want is playoff wins en route to get an NBA championship,” Booker said. While he supports the rule because “the fans want people to play,” he acknowledged a potential drawback: players might rush back too soon and aggravate injuries.

Williams Out 2–3 Weeks

Starting center Mark Williams will miss at least two to three weeks after a stress reaction was discovered in his left foot. Head coach Jordan Ott said the injury caught the team off guard, explaining that Williams felt soreness on an off day, underwent imaging, and received the diagnosis.

Maluach Ready for Opportunity

With Williams sidelined, rookie reserve Khaman Maluach expects increased minutes. Speaking before Thursday’s game against Chicago, the former Duke big man said he never blamed anyone for his limited role, instead doubling his offseason work and waiting “patiently” for his chance.

Huntley Returns on Two-Way Deal

Forward CJ Huntley rejoined Phoenix on a two-way contract Monday after being waived in November. The rookie, who spent most of the season with the G League’s Valley Suns, said he “put my head down” and worked daily to earn another opportunity with the NBA club.
