The Phoenix Suns pulled out their most dramatic victory of the season on Sunday, topping the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder 108-105 when Devin Booker drilled a 35-foot jumper over Alex Caruso with one second remaining. The shot marked Booker’s eighth game-winner inside the final three seconds and ended Phoenix’s eight-game skid against Oklahoma City.
Booker told the Arizona Republic the moment is one he has dreamed about since childhood. “When retirement comes, you’ll look back on those moments,” he said, noting the trust the franchise places in him.
Guard Jordan Goodwin delivered a career-best 26 points on 8-for-14 shooting from deep while guarding Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for most of the night. Goodwin, set to hit free agency this summer, said a pre-game text from interim coach Jordan Ott provided extra motivation. His minimum contract for 2025-26 becomes fully guaranteed on Saturday.
Injury and roster notes
Grayson Allen: The veteran missed his ninth straight contest with a right knee injury but completed a full 5-on-5 workout Saturday. Ott said Allen was not expected to play the back‐to‐back, yet “everything seems to be good to go” for Monday’s game in Houston.
Jalen Green: Recovering from a right hamstring strain, Green is “real close” to facing live contact, according to Ott, who added the guard continues to make steady progress during pre-game drills.
Travel hiccup
The Suns’ post-game celebrations were followed by a delay on their trip to Houston. A mechanical issue grounded the team’s flight Sunday night, and management opted to depart late Monday morning, ESPN’s Tim MacMahon reported.
Bouyea’s two-way impact
On his “Suns After Dark Film Session,” Gerald Bourguet highlighted two-way guard Jamaree Bouyea, who ranks among the top five scorers on two-way contracts while shooting 41% from three. Bouyea also sits in the 98th percentile among guards in field-goal percentage at the rim.
