Suns Say Jalen Green Will Miss at Least Two to Three More Weeks

The Phoenix Suns announced Monday that guard Jalen Green will remain out for a minimum of two to three additional weeks as he continues to rehabilitate a strained right hamstring. The club plans to reevaluate the fifth-year player at that time.
Green first strained the hamstring early in training camp and aggravated the injury during a mid-October ramp-up. He missed the season’s opening eight games, logged 23 minutes in his Nov. — debut, then reinjured the leg roughly seven minutes into his second appearance two days later.
The update is the first detailed timetable since Nov. 11, when Phoenix said the 23-year-old would be assessed again in four to six weeks. Head coach Jordan Ott acknowledged last week that the team is taking a cautious approach after multiple setbacks. Green had returned to limited on-court work before the latest announcement.
Durability had been a hallmark of Green’s first four NBA seasons—he played 67, 76, and then 82 games in each of the past two years. The guard arrived from Houston in last summer’s Kevin Durant blockbuster and is earning approximately $33.6 million this season, the first year of a three-year, $105 million rookie-scale extension that carries a $36 million player option for 2027-28.
