San Francisco — Golden State guard Stephen Curry is scheduled for another medical evaluation in 10 days as he continues to recover from a right knee injury sustained on January 30.
The updated timeline, first reported by ESPN’s Anthony Slater, guarantees Curry will sit out at least five additional games. He has already missed 10 contests since the injury occurred.
An MRI on February 19 showed no structural damage, and the team announced then that the two-time MVP would be sidelined for a minimum of five more games. What happens after the upcoming 10-day waiting period remains uncertain.
Head coach Steve Kerr has repeatedly said the Warriors have no plans to shut Curry down for the season. Golden State enters play as the eighth seed in the Western Conference.
Before the injury, Curry was averaging 27.2 points and 4.8 assists while logging one of the lowest minutes-per-game figures of his career.
