The San Antonio Spurs have converted guard Stanley Umude to a two-way deal and released fellow two-way player Kyle Mangas, the club confirmed on December 21.

Mangas, 26, joined San Antonio on a two-way agreement earlier in December but did not appear in an NBA game. He logged 11 contests with the G League’s Austin Spurs, averaging 16.5 points and 5.0 assists while hitting 39.3% of his three-point attempts.

Umude, 6’6”, earned the new contract after starting the season with Austin. Over 11 G League outings, he produced 20.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game, shooting 39.5% from beyond the arc on 7.8 attempts. The 24-year-old had originally signed a training-camp deal with San Antonio but was waived before opening night to create roster space for center Bismack Biyombo.

The University of Arkansas product has appeared in 47 NBA games. He played 22 games for the Milwaukee Bucks last season and suited up for the Detroit Pistons in 2023-24, posting 5.3 points in 12.8 minutes per game.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, Umude is expected to remain with the Spurs for the balance of the season.
