The San Antonio Spurs have reached an agreement to bring back forward Riley Minix on a two-way contract, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Tuesday.

San Antonio still had two vacant two-way slots, so the signing does not require a corresponding roster move.

Minix, 24, appeared in one NBA game for the Spurs last season after joining the club as an undrafted free agent. He became a restricted free agent in June when the team issued a qualifying offer.

The 6-foot-7 Moorhead State product saw his rookie year cut short after undergoing season-ending surgery in January to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, sustained during a Jan. 1 G League game against Iowa. Cleared for action last month, he played five games with San Antonio’s Summer League squad and averaged 10.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 48.6 percent in 23.9 minutes per contest.

Originally signed to an Exhibit 10 deal in July 2024, Minix had that contract converted to a two-way pact before opening night. In 19 appearances for the G League’s Austin Spurs last season, he posted 19.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.2 blocks per game on .524/.414/.853 shooting in 31.6 minutes.
