MIAMI — Second-year guard Pelle Larsson has excelled since moving into the Miami Heat’s starting lineup, appearing in 26 games as a starter and helping the club post a 16-10 record in those contests.
“We trust Pelle,” center Bam Adebayo said. “He’s the guy we can plug into the starting five and immediately feel the difference. If he scores 15 points, that’s a bonus, but we know what he brings every night.”
Head coach Erik Spoelstra credited Larsson’s cutting, spacing and energy for keeping the offense on schedule. The Heat hold a $2,296,271 team option on the 22-year-old’s contract for next season; the salary becomes guaranteed on opening night.
