The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to trade rookie guard Jared McCain to the Oklahoma City Thunder, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported. In return, Philadelphia will acquire Houston’s 2026 first-round pick—currently controlled by Oklahoma City—along with three second-round selections.

According to PHLY Sports’ Kyle Neubeck, the second-rounders heading to the 76ers are:

  • The most favorable 2027 pick among Oklahoma City, Houston, Indiana and Miami
  • Oklahoma City’s own 2028 second-round pick
  • Milwaukee’s 2028 second-round pick

McCain, who turns 22 later this month, was selected 16th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft out of Duke. He averaged 15.3 points over 23 games before a season-ending knee injury. His comeback was slowed further by thumb surgery to repair ligament damage.

Philadelphia turns a promising but injured prospect into additional draft capital, giving the front office flexibility for future moves. For Oklahoma City, the deal adds another young talent to its developmental pipeline without compromising long-term cap space.

Additional transactions may follow. Jake Fischer of The Stein Line reported that Thunder forward Ousmane Dieng could be sent to the Charlotte Hornets for center Mason Plumlee, a move that would help Oklahoma City stay under the luxury-tax threshold.
