The NBA has issued a $100,000 fine to the Philadelphia 76ers for violating league rules on injury reporting, the league announced on Wednesday.

According to the statement, Philadelphia failed to provide an accurate status update for star center Joel Embiid ahead of the Nov. 30 matchup against the Atlanta Hawks. Embiid was first listed as out, upgraded to questionable a few hours before tip-off, and ultimately cleared to play later in the day.

In determining the penalty, the NBA cited the club’s previous infractions. The 76ers were fined twice during the 2023–24 season for similar reporting violations involving Embiid and again in October 2024 after team officials offered conflicting comments about the center’s health, a situation tied to the league’s player participation policy.

Embiid underwent left knee surgery during the offseason and has also experienced right knee soreness this fall. He played on Sunday for the first time since Nov. 8 but was held out of Tuesday’s game against the Washington Wizards.
