The Philadelphia 76ers are bringing in former first-round pick MarJon Beauchamp on a two-way contract and have waived rookie guard Hunter Sallis to create the roster opening, according to Tony Jones of The Athletic.

Beauchamp, 25, entered the league as the No. 24 overall selection in the 2022 draft. Between 2022 and 2025 he suited up for the Bucks, Clippers and Knicks, logging 135 regular-season appearances and averaging 4.1 points and 1.9 rebounds across 10.9 minutes a night.

After preseason stops with Portland and Philadelphia this fall, the 6’7” wing joined the 76ers’ G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats. In seven games during the Showcase Cup events, he posted 20.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists per contest while shooting 50.0% from the field, 45.2% from three and 93.3% at the line.

Beauchamp also stood out for USA Basketball earlier this month, scoring a combined 50 points in two FIBA World Cup 2027 qualifying wins over Nicaragua. He hit 18 of 26 shots overall (69.2%) and 9 of 14 from deep (64.3%), prompting head coach Stephen Silas to note, “Yeah, he’s gonna be in the NBA at some point, whether it’s tomorrow or later this year.”

Philadelphia will use Beauchamp’s final season of two-way eligibility, adding him to a two-way group that already includes forwards Dominick Barlow and Jabari Walker, both regular contributors this season.

Under league rules, players on full-season two-way deals may be active for up to 50 NBA games, but teams carrying fewer than 15 standard contracts are capped at 90 total combined appearances by their two-way players. The 76ers have operated with 14 standard contracts all season and have already used 58 two-way games: 28 for Walker, 18 for Barlow and 12 for Sallis.

If Beauchamp officially signs on Wednesday, his individual limit will be a prorated 32 NBA games. Continued heavy usage of two-way players would eventually force Philadelphia to add a 15th standard contract to avoid exceeding the 90-game threshold.
