The Philadelphia 76ers are bringing in former first-round pick MarJon Beauchamp on a two-way deal and have waived rookie guard Hunter Sallis to create the roster opening, according to Tony Jones of The Athletic.
Beauchamp, 25, entered the league as the No. 24 pick in the 2022 draft. He has already seen time with the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks, appearing in 135 NBA games with averages of 4.1 points and 1.9 rebounds in limited minutes.
After brief preseason stops, the 6-foot-6 wing joined the Delaware Blue Coats, Philadelphia’s G League affiliate, where he quickly became one of the league’s most efficient scorers. Over seven contests in the Tip-Off Tournament and Winter Showcase, Beauchamp averaged 20.7 points while shooting 50.0 percent from the field, 45.2 percent from three-point range and 93.3 percent at the foul line.
Earlier this month, he also impressed on the international stage, posting a Team USA qualifying-record 50 points across two FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
This season marks Beauchamp’s final year of two-way eligibility. He joins fellow two-way players Dominick Barlow and Jabari Walker, both of whom have already logged meaningful NBA minutes.
