San Francisco — The Golden State Warriors announced Saturday that guard Seth Curry will be out for a minimum of two weeks after an MRI revealed irritation of the sciatic nerve on his left side.

Curry, 35, has already missed the past three games with the issue and will be re-evaluated following the two-week period, the team said in a press release. ESPN’s Anthony Slater first reported the results of the MRI.

The 12-year veteran has appeared in only two contests since re-signing with Golden State on December 1. He spent training camp and the preseason with the club but was waived before opening night when his veteran-minimum salary could not be accommodated under the Warriors’ second-apron hard cap.

Renowned for his perimeter shooting, the 6-foot-1 combo guard owns a career three-point percentage of 43.3%, the seventh-best mark in league history. Curry entered the NBA undrafted out of Duke in 2013 and is the younger brother of Warriors star Stephen Curry.

Golden State begins a two-game road swing Sunday in Toronto followed by a Monday matchup in Brooklyn. Guard De’Anthony Melton will sit out Sunday’s game for left knee injury management after missing most of last season with a torn ACL. Veteran big man Al Horford will play against the Raptors but will rest Monday as he continues to manage his own recent bout with sciatica.
