Sacramento Kings guard Dennis Schroder says the constant buzz about possible trades is not keeping him up at night.
Speaking after Friday’s 123-118 defeat to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the veteran reserve made his feelings clear with the Feb. 5 trade deadline less than two weeks away.
“I don’t give a f— about that,” Schroder told reporters, according to the Sacramento Bee. “At the end of the day, I enjoy every single day being in the NBA. I don’t take it for granted.”
The 30-year-old backed up his words on the court, delivering 21 points off the bench. Even so, Sacramento dropped its fourth straight contest and fell to 12-34, one of the league’s worst records.

Front-office discussions have reportedly included several Kings players — among them Domantas Sabonis, Malik Monk, Keon Ellis and Schroder himself — as well as outside stars Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan. Sacramento is said to be searching for more length and athleticism on the wing.
Schroder, traded three times in a 24-hour span last season, insisted the speculation is not disrupting the locker room. “Everybody else in this locker room, they’re just going to play,” he said. “You’re still one of 400 people in the NBA out of eight billion in the world who get to do this.”
Interim head coach Doug Christie described the team as a “brotherhood” and added that game time serves as a mental escape from the rumor mill.
Schroder and the Kings return to action Sunday as the trade clock continues to tick.
