Memphis Grizzlies forward Santi Aldama is sidelined indefinitely after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, the team announced Monday. The procedure included an orthobiologic injection designed to ease discomfort in the trochlear compartment of his knee.

Aldama, 25, has been out of action since Feb. 4 with persistent knee pain. Before the setback, he was averaging a career-best 14.0 points and 6.7 rebounds in 27.9 minutes across 43 games. The third-year power forward is shooting 47.9% from the field and 35.0% from three-point range, both above his career marks.

The Grizzlies said they expect Aldama to make a full recovery, adding that a more precise timetable will be provided after the surgery.

Aldama signed a three-year, $52.5 million deal as a restricted free agent last summer. His absence adds to Memphis’s lengthy injury report, which already lists Ja Morant, Scotty Pippen Jr., Walter Clayton, Zach Edey, Brandon Clarke and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope as out for Monday’s game.
