Toronto Raptors wing RJ Barrett is scheduled to play Sunday, December 29, against the Golden State Warriors, the club confirmed. According to Sportsnet.ca’s Blake Murphy, Barrett will operate under a minutes restriction in what will be his first appearance since November 23.
The Raptors posted a 12-5 record with Barrett in the lineup earlier this season but have gone 6-9 during his 15-game absence, noted TSN’s Josh Lewenberg. Over that stretch, Toronto has recorded the league’s lowest offensive rating.
Before being sidelined, the 25-year-old averaged 19.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists while shooting 50.6% from the field and 35.6% from three in 17 games.
The team is also expected to release an update Monday on starting center Jakob Poeltl, who will miss his third consecutive contest Sunday because of what the Raptors have termed a lower-back strain. The 29-year-old has dealt with back issues since training camp.
