The Toronto Raptors will remain without RJ Barrett for at least another week after the guard/forward received a platelet-rich plasma injection to treat a sprained right knee, the team announced Monday night.

The update arrives one day before Toronto hosts the New York Knicks in the NBA Cup quarterfinals. Barrett, the club’s third-leading scorer, has not played since suffering the injury on November 23 against Brooklyn and has now missed eight straight games.

Through 17 appearances this season, the 25-year-old is averaging 19.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 30.9 minutes, shooting 50.6 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from three and 72.5 percent at the foul line.

Toronto listed Jamison Battle as doubtful for Tuesday with a left ankle sprain, while reserve guard Jamal Shead is questionable due to a right quad contusion.

The Raptors have gone 3-5 without Barrett, dropping five of their past six contests after opening the year with alternating winning and losing streaks. At 15-10, they sit fourth in the Eastern Conference, just one game ahead of the No. 9 position.

Second-year guard JaKobe Walter has started the last five games in Barrett’s absence but has struggled recently, missing all nine of his shots over the previous two outings and posting a minus-40 plus-minus in 37 combined minutes.
