Toronto Raptors wing RJ Barrett is officially day-to-day after taking part in full-contact drills on Friday, head coach Darko Rajaković told reporters.
The 25-year-old has been sidelined with a right knee sprain since Nov. 23 and was ruled out of Friday’s matchup in Washington, marking his 15th consecutive absence. Barrett resumed on-court activity last week and previously received a platelet-rich plasma injection to aid the healing process.
Before the injury, the No. 3 pick in the 2019 draft was averaging 19.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists over 30.9 minutes in 17 games, shooting 50.6% from the field, 35.6% from three and 72.5% at the free-throw line.
Rajaković added that forwards Scottie Barnes and rookie Collin Murray-Boyles were cleared to play Friday after battling an illness. However, Murray-Boyles was a late scratch shortly before tip-off, according to Sportsnet’s Blake Murphy.
Toronto entered Friday at 18-13, holding the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference.
