Los Angeles — Klutch Sports Group CEO Rich Paul says talk that he insisted the Dallas Mavericks move Anthony Davis is completely unfounded.
During an appearance on the “Game Over” podcast, Paul labeled the speculation “fake news,” attributing it to online aggregation and rumor mills rather than any actual request from his agency.
“If a player is happy, settled and in a good situation, there’s no reason to stir things up just for headlines,” Paul said. He emphasized that his priorities remain “family, stability, well-being and, of course, making sure the paycheck comes in,” adding that he does not care which franchise signs the checks as long as the client is compensated appropriately.
Paul reiterated that Davis’s future is not being shaped by behind-the-scenes pressure from Klutch Sports. Instead, he insisted the eight-time All-Star’s status in Dallas will be determined by the player’s own satisfaction with his surroundings.
Trade rumors are common for high-profile players, Paul acknowledged, but he maintained that the current chatter surrounding Davis did not originate with him or his agency.
