Several NBA clubs have already shown interest in Domantas Sabonis should the Sacramento Kings entertain trade offers, according to The Athletic’s Sam Amick during an appearance on SacTown Sports.

Amick noted that the same level of enthusiasm has not materialized for guard Zach LaVine, whose sizable contract remains difficult to move.

Sabonis, 29, is in the first season of a four-year extension that pays him $42.3 million in 2023-24 and escalates to $48.6 million by 2027-28. Through nine games, the three-time All-Star is averaging 15.3 points, 12.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists. He has led the league in rebounding each of the past three seasons.

Sacramento, off to a 3-9 start, is weighing whether to retool around Sabonis and forward Keegan Murray or pivot toward the talent-rich 2026 draft. Any direction would keep Sabonis at the center of the franchise’s plans—and on rival teams’ radar.

LaVine, meanwhile, is earning $47.5 million with a $49 million player option next year. The Bulls spent months looking for a destination before sending him to the Kings in a three-team deal last February, and his contract continues to be viewed as a hurdle in trade discussions.

Amick added that the Kings were comfortable offering Murray a five-year rookie extension before the season. The former No. 4 overall pick has yet to play after thumb surgery but is considered a long-term cornerstone both by Sacramento and by other front offices.
