The Milwaukee Bucks are again weighing a potential trade for New Orleans Pelicans guard Dejounte Murray, according to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.

Milwaukee has been searching for roster upgrades around Giannis Antetokounmpo but lacks the assets required for a blockbuster move. Team executives have therefore concentrated on experienced players who present some risk related to health, role fit or contract size. Murray, who matches that profile, has drawn Bucks interest in the past during his stints with the San Antonio Spurs and the Atlanta Hawks.

The 27-year-old guard is working back from a torn Achilles tendon sustained late last season and is expected to make his 2024-25 debut in January. League observers believe a strong return could prompt clubs to explore acquiring him at a potentially reduced cost.

New Orleans’ backcourt rotation features rookie starter Jeremiah Fears and reserve Jose Alvarado, giving the Pelicans flexibility if trade talks materialize. Financially, Murray is earning $30.8 million this season and is owed $32.8 million in 2025-26, with a $30.7 million player option for 2027-28—figures that remain within Milwaukee’s range for what it considers a realistic upgrade.
