The Toronto Raptors announced Sunday that center Jakob Poeltl remains sidelined indefinitely because of a lower-back strain.

According to the team, the 28-year-old Austrian returned to Toronto on Thursday to consult a back specialist and underwent targeted pain-relief treatment. His status will be reviewed once he resumes practice activities, but the club did not offer a timetable for his return.

Poeltl has been managing the injury since training camp and has missed the past 17 games. Overall, he has been unavailable for 26 of the Raptors’ 47 contests.

Toronto owns a 13-8 record when Poeltl plays and is 15-11 without him. The team is currently 28-19 and sits fourth in the Eastern Conference standings.
