The Toronto Raptors became the first club to secure a berth in the NBA Cup quarterfinals after rolling past the Washington Wizards by 30 points on Friday night, Nov. 21, 2025.

The victory pushed Toronto’s winning streak to six games and improved the team’s overall record to 11-5. Washington fell to 1-14, the league’s worst mark.

Friday’s result, combined with Cleveland’s win over Indiana, locked up the No. 1 seed in East Group A for the Raptors. Toronto had already defeated both the Cavaliers and Hawks in earlier group play, giving the club the head-to-head tiebreaker over each opponent.

The Raptors blew the game open with a franchise-record 48 points in the third quarter. Five players reached double figures, led by Brandon Ingram and RJ Barrett, who each scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Scottie Barnes added 23 points and three steals, while offseason addition Sandro Mamukelashvili contributed 23 points and seven rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench. Immanuel Quickley chipped in 17 points, seven assists and no turnovers.

“I think there’s a lot more to come — I’m getting comfortable being me,” Mamukelashvili said after the game.

Head coach Darko Rajaković noted that the Raptors are aiming to host their quarterfinal matchup, citing the team’s plus-53 point differential and perfect 3-0 record in group play as key advantages.

Recent history suggests that advancing this far in the in-season tournament could translate to postseason success. Thirteen of the 16 teams that reached the knockout stage over the previous two years went on to make the NBA playoffs, while the remaining three qualified for the play-in tournament. Toronto has not appeared in the postseason since the 2021-22 campaign.
