Sixers, Quentin Grimes Remain “Very Far Apart” in Contract Talks

Restricted free agent guard Quentin Grimes and the Philadelphia 76ers are still nowhere close to a new contract, ESPN’s Shams Charania said Tuesday on the network’s “NBA Today.”
Charania described the sides as “very far apart,” noting that the stalemate has stretched throughout the entire offseason with no resolution in sight.
Because Grimes is a restricted free agent, Philadelphia retains the right to match any offer sheet he may sign with another club. So far, negotiations between the player’s camp and the organization have not produced an agreement.
Neither the 76ers nor Grimes’ representatives have issued public statements regarding the ongoing talks.
